Pete F. Buffer - JD, CLU, ChFC, CFP®

President

Pete Buffer has been in the financial services industry since 1981 following his nine years of practicing law. He specialized in estate and business planning with Northwestern Mutual for twenty-five years and has been an independent financial advisor since 2006. Pete received a business administration degree and his law degree from the University of Iowa. He is also a Certified Financial Planner®, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Chartered Financial Consultant. Along with his many designations he holds the Series 7 general securities representative, and Series 65 investment advisor representative licenses. Pete also taught financial courses at Parsons College, Iowa Wesleyan and The University of Iowa.

Values based estate and financial planning is Pete's focus. He was formerly a partner in the Anderson & Buffer Law Firm where he focused on the areas of estate planning, family corporations, probate, and taxation. Pete helped establish the Mid-Prairie Community School District Foundation, served as the Foundation President for over twelve years and was recognized as a Friend of Education in 1987. Pete is a past-president of the Kalona Rotary Club; he is currently the club's Rotary Foundation chairman.

Pete grew up around the Rock Island Railroad and maintains an ongoing interest in trains; he also has many other hobbies including scuba diving, genealogy, photography, and travel. His desire to travel the world may have been sparked from the three years he served in the US Army where he was a basic electronics instructor and radar repairman, serving one of those years in Korea. As Pete travels he enjoys creating travel books which you may see when you visit our office.
